Apple’s New iPhone 5 To Be In Short Supply

Date Posted:30 September 2013

For the first time, Apple has decided to not make their latest iPhone offering available for pre-order. According to All Things D, this could be because there’s an unusually low amount of stock available. Sources at wireless carriers are reporting that the launch inventory for the new iPhone is much less than they expected.

It’s even looking like the iPhone 5 will be difficult to find in Apple’s own retail stores too.

While one carrier claimed that they were concerned with the low amount of stock they’ll be carrying, another carrier said that shipments from Apple were ‘very disappointing.’

Having said that, many are also saying that the demand for this iPhone looks as though it will be far less than expected.

Despite these rumours, on launch day the iPhone 5 (including the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c models) sold over 9 million units in its first weekend.
